Kuwait Bans Birds Meat Imports From Holland

The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition on Wednesday declared a ban on imports of all forms of bird meat and eggs from Holland due to the spread of a highly contagious strain of bird flu. Adel Al-Suwait, the secretary-general of the authority supreme committee, said in a press statement bird meat thermally treated at 70 degrees is exempted from the ban.

The ban is also applicable on such imports from Richmond — Nr Hawes regions in Britain for the same reason. The committee recommended lifting the ban on bird meat imports from all Russian regions due to the recession of the epidemic. However, it will be applicable on such imports from Senegal and Sweden.
