Kuwait has urged the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to improve the global education partnership, emphasizing the need for a "better approach" to educating refugees and displaced persons, as well as encouraging a culture of peace and security.

This was said in a speech delivered Monday by Kuwait's permanent representative to UNESCO, Ambassador Dr. Adam Al-Mulla, before the Organization's Executive Council's 214th session.

Ambassador Al-Mulla emphasized the importance of member states' consultation and engagement in a way that strengthens the global partnership for education and helps millions of people throughout the world build a better future.

He also emphasized the importance of providing financial support and a bigger number of professionals to regional offices, particularly those located in crisis zones, to enable them to address problems.

He also thanked the UNESCO General Secretariat for its constant efforts and endeavors to implement the program adopted by the organization's general conference, as well as its numerous activities for the term (2018-2021).

He praised Saudi Arabia's strong leadership in organizing regional meetings and developing proposals for the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development, which will be held in Mexico later this year. KUNA –
