Around 5600 Expats Terminated From Public Sector

Around 2,500 expatriates are terminated from public sector this year, Human Resources Committee Rapporteur MP Mohammed Al-Huwaila said quoting State Minister for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel. In addition to this, around 3,100 expatriate were terminated last year and the total number of expatriates terminated from public sector is around 5600, he informed.

According to Al-Huwaila, the employment replacement policy is underway and more expatriates in public sector will be replaced by citizen.

In a meeting with representatives of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), Kuwait University, Ministry of Higher Education and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC); the committee discussed the private sector’s role in providing jobs for citizens.
