Krcs Volunteers Win Praise For Their Efforts In Covid Times
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society said the volunteers gave honorable examples of giving and serving the nation through humanitarian work, especially in light of the outbreak of the new Covid 19, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This came in a statement made by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar Al-Hassawi to KUNA on the occasion of the International Day of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent on May 8. The event was held under the slogan ‘We cannot be stopped’. Al-Hassawi praised the efforts exerted by the volunteers to serve the country in all its segments and in supporting the implementation of preventive and precautionary measures in the country in order to limit the spread of the virus.
He said May 8 of very year is an appropriate day to stand with oneself, evaluate the process and push it forward, and contribute effectively to mobilize support for programs, strengthening partnerships with sectors of society, and spreading the values and principles that we seek to achieve. He added the slogan of the international occasion for this year emphasizes the importance of the volunteering role in confronting the repercussions of the health pandemic by providing community services in all sites, hospitals, quarantine centers, airports, ports, cooperative societies and others. He stated that this year’s celebration comes amid an appreciated response from the volunteers of the KRCS to the most pressing public health issues, until they formed a support line for efforts to confront the health crisis. Al-Hassawi noted the keenness of the Red Crescent to follow up on the enormous work that volunteers provide in response to the repercussions of the Corona crisis, expressing deep thanks and appreciation to “every volunteer who spares no effort in order to get all out of the current crisis safely.”
