Kratom Consumption Or Sale Is Illegal

19 August 2022 Crime News

According to Al-Anba daily, the Ministry of Interior confirmed the criminalization of consumption, smuggling, and selling of Kratom in law number 74/1983. As Kratom contains opium-like properties, it will be regulated; anyone who uses, smuggles, or sells Kratom will be prosecuted.

Kratom can cause respiratory failure, epileptic seizures, psychosis, high blood pressure, nausea, liver poisoning, and sudden death due to high levels of poisoning. In addition, it urged parents to carefully monitor their children, educate them about the dangers of narcotics and psychotropic substances, and inform authorities about drug-dependent children so that they may be referred to the authority in charge of treating, caring for, and rehabbing drug addicts.
