KNPC Preparing To Launch Strategic Economic, Environmental Projects During The Next Phase
The Kuwait National Petroleum Company is preparing to operate strategic economic and environmental projects during the next phase, including the removal of acid gases in the Ahmadi refinery, which is of particular economic and environmental importance, reports Al-Rai daily quoting oil sources.
The sources pointed out that the importance of the unit to remove acid gases due to the processing of gas associated with crude oil produced by the Kuwait Oil Company, saying that the unit capacity of 230 million cubic feet of gas per day and 106 thousand barrels of oil condensate.
The sources added that the second project, which the KNPC is preparing to operate, is the modernization of sulfur export facilities – the last stage of the sulfur handling project at a total cost of 147 million dinars. The company is also preparing to operate the South Ahmadi warehouses project, which has been completed. The sources revealed that the engineering work on drafting the tender of the bitumen unit at Al-Ahmadi Refinery is expected to be launched in the first half of 2020.
