Kia To Resolve Details For The Return Of Vaccinated Residents

07 July 2021 Kuwait

Kuwait International Airport (KIA) is preparing to allow the return of vaccinated residents from August 1. The decision on the entry mechanism for residents to the country will be finalized within days, Al Qabas daily reported.

The source told the daily that airport authorities are awaiting an upcoming meeting with Ministry of Health officials to clarify the detailed procedures that are not included in the recent decisions.

Among the issues raised is raising the operational capacity in the number of arrivals to the country to 5,000 passengers instead of the current 3,500, with an increase in the number of flights and the easing of some travel restrictions.

On June 17, the Council of Ministers approved several decisions regarding travel abroad for citizens and entry of non-Kuwaitis into the country, provided that they receive two doses of the anti-Coronavirus vaccine approved in Kuwait and produced by Pfizer – AstraZeneca – Moderna companies, or one dose of the vaccine produced by the company. Johnson & Johnson, as of Sunday, August 1, 2021, provided that the first PCR test is performed 72 hours before arrival stating that it is free of infection with the Coronavirus and must home quarantine period of seven days after arrival.
