Kfaed Keeps Funding Of Development Projects In Many Countries In 2019

Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) continued in 2019 its funding of development projects in many countries around the world. Following are the major contributions of KFAED:

Jan 15: KFAED signed a KD six million (USD 20 million) for the financing of a road project in Belize.

Jan 21: KFAED signed a loan agreement with the People’s Republic of China worth KD nine million (USD 30.6 million) to finance the expansion of the Guiyang II People’s Hospital.

Jan 28: KFAED signed a loan agreement with the republic of Benin worth KD five million (USD 17 million) to finance water supply project.

Jan 31: KFAED signed KD seven million (USD 23 million) loan agreement with Togo to finance a water supply project for Kara City and the surrounding areas.

Feb 11: KFAED signed an agreement with Jordan to provide a grant worth USD six million to meet the educational needs of Syrian refugees in the country.

Feb 12: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Iraq worth KD 25 million (USD 85 million) to support the affected areas in Iraq.

Feb 19: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Burkina Faso worth KD 4.5 million (USD 15.3 million) to finance Tougan-Ouahigouya Road Project.

Feb 19: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Bosnia-Herzegovina worth KD 11.6 million (about USD 39.44 million) to fund a road construction project.

Feb 21: KFAED provided Nigeria with KD four million loan (USD 13.6 million) to fund a road project.

March 13: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Liberia worth KD six million (USD 20.4 million) to finance the Konia and Voinjama road project.

March 16: KFAED signed a USD six-million grant agreement with Lebanon on behalf of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences to contribute to the of establishing three schools in Zahle, Aarida, and Hadath.

March 16: KFAED signed another grant agreement with Lebanon worth USD two million to contribute to the treatment of Syrian children refugees with cancer.

March 27: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Chad worth KD three million (USD nine million) to finance a road project.

March 31: KFAED signed a loan agreement with the Republic of Suriname worth KD five million (USD 17 million) to assist in financing the Expansion of Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Networks Project.

June 2: KFAED signed a USD two million donation agreement with Al-Hussain cancer center for treatment of Syrian refugees.

Sept. 19: KFAED signed a USD three million donation agreement with UNICEF to provide clean water for people in Gaza Strip.

Nov. 10: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Mauritania worth KD 10 million (about USD 33 million), to fund a 140 km long road construction.

Nov. 17: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Sierra Leone worth KD five million, to fund a project on developing marine environment.

Nov. 24: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Egypt worth KD 25 million to fund a road construction project in Sinai.

Nov. 27: KFAED signed a loan agreement with Uzbekistan worth KD nine million to fund a project on infrastructure for houses in rural areas.

Dec. 5: Kuwait Fund signed KD 29.5 million (USD 100 million) loan agreement with Bahrain to finance an electricity grid project.
