Kd50 Dinars Addition To Travel Tickets For Pcr Tests

21 January 2021 Kuwait

Airlines operating at Kuwait Airport are instructed to standardize the price of PCR tests that will be compulsory for all arrivals to the country as part of health measures against the coronavirus, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced. This follows the directives of the recent Cabinet decision requiring airlines to undertake the costs of PCR tests, Al Rai daily reported.

Informed sources confirmed to Al Rai daily that discussions are taking place between the concerned authorities to reach an initial price for one PCR test at KD25, with a total of KD50 dinars for two tests, the first upon arrival and the second after 7 days. The amount will be added to the price of the passenger’s ticket who are coming to Kuwait.

The sources stated that the testing procedures will be undertaken by the local private sector to mitigate the burden on the Ministry of Health at the present time, especially in light of its efforts on more than one way to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
