Kd 100 Allowance To Kuwaitis To Face Inflation

Government sources said there is a recommendation to raise the “cost of living” allowance for Kuwaiti employees in government departments to face the increase in the prices of consumer products following the implementation of the subsidies rationalization decisions.

The increase will include employees whose salaries are less than KD 1,500, characterized by the government as limited-income who are supposed to keep receiving subsidies one way or the other. The recommendation considered cash payment for them as the best way to compensate for any increased prices in the market.

As for citizens who are within the limited-income category and do not work for the government and receive labor support, the recommendation calls to treat them equally to government employees to avoid making them look for government jobs.
