07 January 2021 Crime News

The Detention Renewal Judge has decided to extend until January 20 the detention of two minors who had communicated with the ISIS organization and were found in possession of firearms.

According to the case file, the State Security Department raided a house and arrested one of the minors who had been communicating with the terrorist organization for some time.

He was referred to the investigation office of the Juvenile Investigation Department. During interrogations, he explained that someone had communicated with him through the popular online gaming platform PUBG, and intentionally joined his team during the game.

One week later, the individual communicated with him through a social media program and persuaded him to embrace the ISIS ideology. He asked him to draw the organization’s flags inside his room in his family’s home, and sent him financial support to recruit the rest of his friends.

The minor then spoke to one of his close friends and told him what had happened, and eventually convinced him to join him in embracing the ISIS ideology. The second accused in turn convinced four of his friends to accept the ideology. Of the six suspects, four were released.
