Joining Isis Lands Kuwaiti In Prison For 5 Years

24 July 2022 Crime News

Kuwait's Court of Appeals sentenced a citizen to five years in prison with hard labor for joining the Islamic State of Iran and Syria (ISIS), which aims to destroy the nation's basic systems and risk severing relations with a friendly nation.

The Kuwaiti Public Prosecution accused the accused of engaging in hostile acts against Iraq without Kuwait's permission, since he joined a banned organization - ISIS - fighting against Iraq, putting Kuwait's relations with another country at risk. Despite knowing that the banned group promotes principles aimed at the destruction of the country's existing social and economic systems, the prosecution argued that the accused joined the group.
