10 November 2021 Kuwait

The Municipal Council Committee for the Preservation of Historic and Heritage Monuments and Urban Development has decided to form a tripartite joint committee comprising members from the Kuwait Municipality, the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) and the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), to coordinate efforts to develop the Red Palace Park in Jahra.

Municipal Council member Ahmed Hadyan Al-Enezi, told Al-Rai the idea is to exploit the vast garden area of the palace for various entertainment activities and make it an integral part of the Red Palace.

In terms of entertainment and tourism, he said, Jahra falls far behind, although it is ‘rich’ in open areas and historical and heritage monuments.
