‘iraq-era’ Ammo Found In Desert

18 February 2021 Crime News

Acting on information, personnel from the Jahra Governorate Security Directorate rushed to an unidentified location in the area, threw a fence around a quantity of ammunition until the competent authorities from the army engineering unit dealt with the ordnance, reports Al-Anba daily.
The security source said this happened after a report was received by the Interior Ministry from a Kuwaiti who stated that he had seen a quantity of ammunition in the Al-Liah area near Jahra, 2 kilometers off the main land. The sources say the ordnance is believed to be remnants left behind by the retreating Iraqi forces after the defeat in the Liberation war in February 1991.
