Officers from the Criminal Evidence Department at the Interior Ministry arrested a female Health Ministry employee assigned in Sabah Hospital for taking bribes in exchange for setting appointments for surgeries conducted by visiting doctors.
According to a security source, the arrest happened after the General Criminal Investigation Department received information about the woman’s illegal activity. A security team was tasked to put her under surveillance and they discovered she took KD 3,000 from a patient in exchange for ensuring the surgery is conducted by visiting doctors.
;The employee was referred to the Public Prosecution for the necessary legal measures and investigations are ongoing to determine if she has accomplices.
