Officers from the Criminal Evidence Department at the Interior Ministry arrested a female Health Ministry employee assigned in Sabah Hospital for taking bribes in exchange for setting appointments for surgeries conducted by visiting doctors.

According to a security source, the arrest happened after the General Criminal Investigation Department received information about the woman’s illegal activity. A security team was tasked to put her under surveillance and they discovered she took KD 3,000 from a patient in exchange for ensuring the surgery is conducted by visiting doctors.

The employee was referred to the Public Prosecution for the necessary legal measures and investigations are ongoing to determine if she has accomplices.
