Inspection Campaigns Conducted And Arrested 150 Individuals Who Were In Criminal Activities

Intensive inspection campaigns conducted in various governorates in the last 48 hours resulted in the arrest of 150 individuals in civil, financial and criminal cases including trading in drugs and alcohol.

This is in compliance with the instruction of acting Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah to track down criminals. According to a security source, the Public Security Sector arrested 56 persons wanted by law in the Capital Governorate. He said the cases include absconding, hawking and violation of the Residency Law, indicating four of those arrested are involved in financial cases.

In Farwaniya Governorate, a Syrian was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh for the possession of hashish, heroin and knife. Five Egyptians were arrested for involvement in financial cases, two Asians for trading in alcohol and 20 individuals who violated the Residency Law.

In Hawally Governorate, 30 persons were arrested for involvement in financial and criminal cases – one of them is a Kuwaiti woman who failed to pay debt amounting to KD8,000 in addition to seven Kuwaiti drug addicts, two Iranians who had heroin and drug paraphernalia in their possession and several others who violated the Residency and Labor laws. In Jahra Governorate, five persons were arrested for possessing narcotics and they were referred to the Drug Control General Department.

In Ahmadi Governorate, 12 persons were arrested – four for possessing alcohol and drugs and eight who are wanted by law for involvement in financial and criminal cases. In Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, 15 persons involved in financial and criminal cases were arrested.
