Indian Embassy To Open Helpdesk As Kuwait Gave 1 Month Time For Illegal Expats To Leave

Indian Embassy will start a separate help desk for those seeking the amnesty announced by Kuwait Government.

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sri Sibi George said that those who don't have passport or travel document could approach this special desk for getting emergency travel document. Those who obtained Emergency Certificate (EC) earlier can use the same to avail the amnesty announced by the Kuwait government. The expired EC can be renewed at the Embassy, Ambassador said during the first online Open Forum organized by the Embassy.

Earlier Kuwait government declared that those with an expired residency on or before January 1st 2020, can either leave the country by paying the fine or correct their status from December 1st to 31st. They will be able to return to Kuwait in a legal visa. Those who are not utilizing this opportunity will be arrested and will be blacklisted for future travel.

Authorities also informed that those on a temporary visa in the country must leave the country before November 30th.
