Indian Embassy Issues Advisory Against Fradulents Calls

12 April 2021 India

Indian Embassy warns Indian nationals living in Kuwait that some unscrupulous individuals are calling posing as Embassy officials, with a view to extracting money. These calls are being made by fraudsters/scamsters by cloning  Embassy’s landline numbers to establish their fake credentials.

These individuals may at times even provide certain personal particulars to make their claims sound genuine. In recent weeks there has been an increase in the number of such complaints received by the  Embassy.

All Indian nationals in Kuwait are hereby informed that the Embassy never requests for any such payments, nor money transfers through telephone calls or through unauthorized means,  nor will ask for your banking credentials/credit card details, etc.

Established processes and procedures are in place in respect of various services provided by the Embassy, which are clearly laid out on the Embassy’s official website (http://www.indembkwt.gov.in/).

Irrespective of how genuine these calls appear to be, all concerned are advised to exercise utmost caution and not to fall prey to any fraudulent attempts. The embassy appeals to report such calls at hoc.kuwait@mea.gov.in.
