In The Budget, The Ministry Spends About 2 Billion Dinars

The Ministry of Finance has paid out about two billion dinars for budget items, an increase of nearly 700 million dinars above the previous fiscal year's monthly average.

According to a local Arabic daily, the state paid 1.4 billion dinars in March, indicating that the savings were from the general budget — the increase in oil sales — during the previous period eased the budget's pressures and increased the Finance Ministry's ability to pay off the current month's appropriations.

According to the sources, the payments for April included arrears in the budget that ended on March 31, which included invoices for contractors and other payments owed by the state, such as the purchase of military equipment contracted by the ministry, as well as salaries for ministries, government agencies, and the like, which totalled around 850 million dinars.

The value of the international bonds issued by the government five years ago, estimated at 3.5 billion dollars, equivalent to about 1.1 billion dinars, was paid in the last month, according to sources, who also explained that the continued rise in oil prices in the coming period will feed the resources of financing the general budget to pay all of its credits for the year.
