Bakery which provides free bread
Abu Ahmed, in his forties who works for one of these restaurants said “Our happiness lies in serving those who cannot afford to pay. We offer free sandwiches and in return we are blessed with goodness. Serving free food is done in various parts of Kuwait such as in Hawally, Farwaniya, Khaitan and other areas”.
Abu Ahmed further stated that “Those who cannot afford to buy food can come to the restaurant and ask for what they want, we take care of their request as if he is a paid customer, we quickly prepare his order and give it to them without anyone knowing. In Kuwait no one goes hungry, and these restaurants help those who are in need as a charity.”
Along with restaurants there are bakeries which provide all kinds of bread free of charge to those who cannot afford to buy bread. Generally in cold winter morning cleaners queue in front of the bakeries for hot bread, the owners willingingly offer free bread, reports Al Rai. Samir Saad is one of the former workers in one of those bakeries, he stated “My happiness was indescribably during my work in a bakery that provided free bread to those who are unable to pay. Seeing a smile on their face was a world filled with happiness for me. Now although I am working where I am having better salary, I cannot forget the humanitarian experience rendered to those who could not afford to pay for a loaf of bread”
