In June, Workers Will No Longer Work In Open Areas At Noon
In Kuwait, the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) has implemented decision number 535/2015, which prohibits workers from working in open areas during the noon between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Inspection teams from PAM will follow up on the implementation of this decision for the next three months as well as conduct unexpected inspections at work sites to spot any violations, the Authority Director General Ahmad Al-Mousa stated in a press release.
The aim of this decision is to organize the work and not to decrease the working hours, he said.
In response to this decision, business owners will now be required to assure the health and safety of all workers on the job sites, as well as to abide by international labor regulations and their subsidiary laws, he said.
The business owners are responsible for paying fines ranging from 100 to 200 KD per employee for any violations that occur.
