In Hawally, 2074 Violations Were Issued, And Six Motorists Were Detained

Under the supervision of Assistant Director-General of the General Traffic Department for Traffic Research Affairs, Brigadier Khaled Mahmoud, and Assistant Director-General of the Traffic Department Research and Education Affairs, Brigadier General the Traffic and Operations Sector of the Ministry of Interior conducted a field campaign in Hawalli on orders from the Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs, Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh. Brigadier General Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled, resulting in the issuance of 2,074 infractions, the impoundment of 18 cars, the referral of eight minors to the General Department of Criminal Investigation, Juvenile Police Department, and the referral of six individuals to the Traffic Court

Brigadier General Mahmoud told Al-Jarida that the field security operations were successful in impounding cars that breached road safety, security, and durability standards, as well as arresting motorists who were driving without licences. The major goal was to elevate the status of the law.

When it comes to juveniles driving without a licence, Mahmoud says the legal punishment also applies to the person who let the juvenile to use his or her car, and if the person who handed it over refuses, the juvenile will be charged with theft.

If a juvenile is found driving without a licence and the suspect's family is present at the time of the incident, it is a felony committed with the family's active involvement.
Major Abdullah Buhassan of the General Traffic Department's Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department claimed that throughout the campaign, 238 motorists were found using their phones while driving, 253 without wearing a seat belt, 98 truck offences, 100 taxi violations, and 285 other offences.
