In Egypt, A Man Sentenced To Death For Killing His Children Dies In Prison

Local media reported that an Egyptian man sentenced to death for murdering three children with help from his two wives died in prison before he could be executed.

Among the three children who died, two boys and a girl were drowned in buckets filled with water by the man and his two wives.

Iman, Hala and Ahmed were given the death penalty by the Cairo Criminal Court on February 28, after the trio was convicted of premeditated first degree murder. According to court documents, the father committed the ghastly crime because his second wife did not have children, which made him doubt the lineage of his children. Also found guilty was the children's mother.

The Egyptian Mufti was requested to approve the execution papers of the three convicts before they were executed. As reported by Egyptian media, the shocking crime took place in 2017. The tragedy has been called the Al Marj Massacre. How he died has not been revealed.
