In A Year, Domestic Employment Fell By 75,000

Ever since the start of the Corona pandemic, the number of domestic workers has been declining, and according to government statistics, about 75,000 domestic workers have left the job market in just one year, from December 2020 to December 2021.

According to labor market statistics released by the Central Administration of Statistics, the number of domestic employees was around 593,684 male and female until last December, and it will be more than 668,000 in December 2020, according to a local Arabic daily.

According to the data, Indian labor topped the list with about 279,000 workers in December 2021, outnumbering Filipino labor (135,000), Bangladeshi labor (76,800), and Sri Lankan labor (64,400). Nepalese labor came in fifth place with about 11,451, Ethiopians with 10,689, and other nationalities with small numbers.
