In A Day, A Kuwaiti Receives 11 Traffic Fines

27 June 2022 Kuwait

Local media reported that a Kuwaiti man was given 11 fines in one day for traffic violations.

A fine of KD100 ($326) was imposed on the 39-year-old man for every infraction, Al Anba said, but did not specify when they occurred.

In this report, authorities inform the offender of the fines through the Official Gazette and task the various security agencies in the country with enforcing them.

In Kuwait, the offender has 27 days to appeal against the verdict starting from the day after the verdict is published in the Official Gazette. Otherwise, the verdict is final.

To curb traffic violations and road offenders, Kuwait has toughened penalties in recent years.

Over 4 million traffic violations were recorded by Kuwaiti authorities in 2021, a nation of around 4.6 million people.

Also, more than 1 million traffic tickets have been issued in the current year's first three months, the traffic police said.
