Immediate Arrest For Those Not Abiding By Health Measures

Within a few days, the field team responsible for enforcement of health instructions will begin enforcing immediate arrest of violators of the instructions, including those who do not wear masks or implement social distancing, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

According to a source, the ministerial resolution No. 83/2020 concerning commitment to the use of masks or covering mouth and nose by any other means stipulates implementation of clause 1 of article 17, amended by article 1 of law No. 4/2020. The punishment is a prison term not exceeding three months and/or fine of maximum KD 5,000.

He explained that the immediate citation for the violation of failure to wear masks can be enforced through a settlement order worth KD 50 to KD 100, but it should involve an approval from the Council of Ministers.
