Holders Of Certificates Lower Than Diploma And 65 Years Residence Wont Be Renewed Or Transferred
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with a number of institutions including Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and representatives of relevant unions and the private sector, conducted a study on the lopsided demographic structure, reports Al- Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed the study suggested non-issuance, renewal and transfer of work permits or residence permits for expatriate private sector employees who hold certificates lower than diploma and reached 65 years old.
Sources said the study was referred to Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Development Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh. Sources added the study recommended exemption of experienced expatriate workers, especially those with technical specializations, according to the actual manpower need and humanitarian considerations.
Sources went on to say Al-Sabeeh is expected to issue a decision regarding the recommendations after consulting the Cabinet
