His Highness The Amir Visit To Us Depicts 104-yr Kuwaiti-american Relationship

A number of media and academic figures on Thursday affirmed success of His Highness the Amir visit to Washington where he met President Donald Trump – an event depicting depth of the 104-yearold relationship between the two countries. Sami Al-Nisf, a former information minister, affirmed in an interview with KUNA significance of the visit, which “opened economic and investment horizons,” indicating at the memos signed between the two sides during the visit for promoting cooperation in sectors such as security, information technology, communications and customs.

His Highness the Amir has been trying to “douse fires and ease off intensity of confrontations … as he had done with Iran and America in addition to other regional files,” Al-Nisf said, alluding to His Highness mediation role and goodwill initiatives to resolve issues and disputes at various levels, namely his go-between role to break the ice in the US-Iranian ties during era of the ex-president, Barrack Obama.

The United States has remained the greatest power in the world; therefore aligning with it and reaching understanding between the two states serve mutual interests, he said – dispelling the conception that the world is now witnessing emergence of several big powers.

Allies such as Kuwait and the US exchange view on issues of common concern at all times, he says, affirming that regular consultations between Kuwait and Washington have never stopped. Moreover, the regional problems have contributed to making this visit necessary and significant.

His Highness the Amir is an admired personality worldwide; he is one of the sagacious leaders in the region and Kuwait’s friends seek to benefit from his experience, wisdom and vision, says Ambassador Al-Sharekh. Dr Fatmah Al-Salem, media professor at Kuwait University, has heaped praise upon His Highness’ relentless efforts to resolve strifes; he has proven to be not only a humanitarian leader but also a sagacious one. The Kuwaiti-US relations have been bolstered due to His Highness’s wisdom and visions, particularly at the political and development levels. Dr Fawaz Al-Ajmi, also a media professor at the KU, indicated at His Highness’ bids in Washington to address regional sticking issues and affairs related to global peace. His Highness is leading Kuwait to safety amid the current difficult regional conditions.
