Hindu Sisters Fulfilled Their Father's Last Wish By Donating 1.2 Crores Land To Muslims
Dehradun: Two Hindu sisters in Uttarakhand donated 2.1 acres of property worth 1.2 million rupees to the Muslim community days before Eid, exemplifying ethnic peace.
Thousands of Muslims came to the new territory to give 'Namaz,' carrying a photograph of the late Lala Brijnandan Rastogi, who died nearly 20 years ago. The worshippers also seek blessings from the 80-year-old farmer following their holiday prayers.
Rastogi was a farmer who had some property in Kashipur that was supposed to be passed down to his daughters Anita (62) and Saroj (60). (57). Rastogi's sisters learned about his desire to leave the property to his 'Muslim brothers' after his death during a talk with some relatives after his death.
Rastogi was a farmer who had some property in Kashipur that was supposed to be passed down to his daughters Anita (62) and Saroj (60). (57). During a talk with some relatives following Rastogi's death, the sisters learned that he wanted to gift the property to his 'Muslim brothers' after his death, but was unwilling to tell his children about it.
Saroj and Anita, on the other hand, worked out the legal kinks and chose to honour their late father's request by donating the land to Eidgah.
"My father was a big believer in community peace," Rastogi's son, Rakesh, was quoted as saying. He wanted to give the land to Muslims so that they might have more space to pray. And my sisters made his desire come true.
Local Muslims referred to him as "a man with a large heart." When he was alive, he allegedly made large gifts to all of the community's major events.
Despite the fact that Eidgah is flanked by a Sikh shrine Gurudwara and a Hanuman temple, there has been no communal violence in the region.
Over the last several days, the local community has been talking about Rastogi and his daughters' generosity, which has served as a shining example of social solidarity and peace.
