Health Authorities Urge Penalties For Failing To Comply With Health Measures
The health authorities will send a report including a list of recommendations to the Council of Ministers today with regard to the steady increase in the number of coronavirus infections in the country recently, Al-Qabas reported.
The daily said, quoting governmental health sources that the report will contain several demands, the most prominent of which is granting health personnel and the concerned authorities the right to enforce immediate fines against those who do not comply with health requirements, especially wearing masks.
The sources said that the Ministry of Health will ask other concerned authorities to regulate compliance with health guidelines and perform their roles as required, in a way that helps contain the spread of the epidemic, noting in this regard the organizing of weddings, parties and other activities with indifference to health warnings, which worries the government that their efforts would be for naught.
Regarding the possibility of closing some activities or returning to the partial curfew, the daily said, quoting sources said that this will depend on the continued increase in the number of new infections, deaths, and intensive care patients, stressing that in the event of an increase, precautionary measures will be taken without hesitation. This move will be done in everyone’s interest and dependent on health preventative measures for such decisions, the government will not hesitate to take any action.
On the list of 32 countries from where expats are banned from entering Kuwait, the sources indicated that the evaluation of these countries is ongoing, and that the report will be delivered today, which may include deletions or additions of some countries. In another context, Al-Qabas daily stressed the importance of taking vaccinations for seasonal influenza, which the Ministry of Health launches annually before the start of winter, indicating that these vaccines work to strengthen the human immune system and could possibly reduce complications from coronavirus infections.
