The Public Sanitation and Road Occupancy Department at the Kuwait Municipality branch in Farwaniya, in cooperation with the Emergency Team of the governorate and with the support of the Interior Ministry, carried out an inspection campaign targeting haphazard areas and shops in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh (Hassawi) resulting in the issuance of 16 citations against hawkers and 20 others for violating public sanitation regulations, in addition to confiscation of four half lorries loaded with fruits and vegetables found to be not fit for human consumption.
Director of the Management Department Saad Al-Khering affirmed in a press statement that all centers affiliated to the governorate are carrying out such campaigns to remove anything deemed destructive to the overall image of the governorate. He explained this is part of ongoing efforts to eliminate negative phenomena. The campaign also included a cleanup drive, leading to the collection of two tons of waste.
