The governor of the capital, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, confirmed that the governorate launched its strict campaign to eliminate the phenomenon of hanging clothes in the facades of the buildings, the campaign began in the regions of Sharq, Al-Mirqab and Bneid Al-Qar. 16 notifications were sent to the owners who violated in addition to 3 pledges not to repeat the offense were signed.
This came in a press statement when the Governor conducted field tour to the eastern regions of Al-Mirqab and Bneid Al-Qar, coinciding with the governorate campaign that it launched in its regions to activate the Ministry of State for Municipal Affairs decision to ban hanging of clothes and furnishings on the facades of buildings.Â
This campaign is carried out in cooperation and coordination with the Department of Public Cleaning and Road Works monitoring the cleanliness of the governorate’s municipality branch.
The campaign will continue especially in bachelor housing areas and apartments in commercial areas. The phenomenon of hanging clothes and furnishings distorts the general appearance of some areas of the province which is a violation of the Ministry of State for Municipal Affairs Decision No. 190 of 2008,” this decision stipulates that ” It is prohibited to clean carpets and furnishings from overlooks located on the streets, and it is prohibited to place or hanging clothes or any other things in the stands and openings located on the roads, squares or public squares with the intention of drying or ventilation or for any other purpose“.Â
Al-Khaled pointed out that the governorate was keen to activate this decision issued in advance in all its details and in cooperation with the concerned authorities. All citizens and expats of the governorate should adhere to this decision in order to avoid legal hassles, the governorate insists on eliminating this phenomenon that violates laws and regulations and has launched its relevant campaign and will not stop until after it is completely completed
Al-Khaled praised the efforts of the concerned authorities that show constructive cooperation with the governorate, including the Ministry of State for Municipal Affairs represented by the emergency team, the Department of Public Cleaning and Road Occupations, monitoring the cleanliness of the governorate’s municipality branch.
