Gulf Citizen Arrested, Referred For Interrogation

Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border point have arrested a citizen of an unidentified Gulf state for attempting to smuggle a pistol and rounds of ammunition into the country by hiding the contraband in the vehicles refrigerator.

The General Administration of Customs told Al-Rai the when the four-wheel drive driven the suspect arrived at the border point the customs officers used police sniffer dogs into service and the dogs gave a positive indication that something was amiss.

The officers then searched the vehicle thoroughly and found the gun and ammunition. The man has been referred for interrogation.
