Grilling Against Finance Minister To Be Most Extensive Ever Handed
MP Riyadh Al-Adsani says the interpellation he intends to submit against the Minister of Finance Nayef Al- Hajraf will be the most extensive and substantial interpellation ever submitted in recent years He indicated that it holds over 100 pages and covers almost every financial issue that the country is currently facing. Al-Adsani explained that the grilling points include the actuarial deficit, state budget, state investments, social security, and banks in which the government has shares.
Although the MP did not reveal when his interpellation will be submitted, considering the next legislative term is drawing closer, his plan to grill the Minister of Finance seems to be a matter he will see through
On the other hand, Al-Adsani called on the government to pay attention to the needs of the employees of Directorate General for Civil Aviation, especially concerning the managerial directive No. 26/2019 that had prompted the recent demonstrations among the employees. He also advised the concerned officials to review their salaries and rights, and amend them accordingly, keeping the nature of their jobs in mind.
Al-Adsani affirmed that he will be following the developments of this case, and will subject those deemed responsible to political questioning if need be.
Meanwhile, MP Saleh Ashour, prompted by the controversy that erupted during the recent football match between Jordan and Kuwait especially after Jordanian supporters glorified the late dictator Saddam Hussain, voiced his dismay, insisting that this is not the first time this issue surfaced.
He asserted his intention to submit a parliamentary request for establishing an investigative committee to look into the matter, stating that any grant, loan or support that will be granted to Jordan by the Kuwaiti government will be met with stern parliamentary opposition
