Govt Presented To The Parliament A Plan To Restore Life Back To Normal
Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem said that the parliament-government meeting to present the government’s plan to gradually return to life in the country came in implementation of what was included in Article 50 of the constitution by separating the authorities with their cooperation.
This came in a press statement by Al-Ghanem following the end of a parliamentary-governmental meeting in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister and six ministers in the National Assembly today, Wednesday, to present the government’s plan and preparations for the post-curfew phase and listen to the views of MPs.
Al-Ghanim added that His Highness the Prime Minister and the ministers and officials of government agencies presented a presentation of the basic features and general directions of the government during the next stage, provided that the details will be discussed in the cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday.
He pointed to the government’s explanation regarding the evaluation and assessment of risk indicators and its division into five phases, the fifth is the most dangerous and the first is the least dangerous, indicating that according to the government’s assessment the country has passed the fifth most dangerous stage and based on that decision to reduce the comprehensive curfew to the partial curfew.
He explained that the cabinet will in its meeting tomorrow will study the reports submitted by the health authorities in the country to assess the current situation and determine the current dangerous stage and accordingly decisions are taken.
He mentioned that the meeting came at the request of His Highness the Prime Minister are His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh and Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah.
He pointed to the participation of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Assistant for Public Health Affairs, the Assistant Undersecretary for Supportive Medical Services, Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf and Undersecretary of the Civil Service Bureau Badr Al-Hamad among the speakers at the meeting.
On the other hand, Al-Ghanem expressed the hope to resume the sessions of the National Assembly as soon as possible after lifting the comprehensive curfew in the country to gradually consider the urgent laws and then resume the parliament’s agenda.
He reaffirmed that the sessions of the National Assembly will not be less than the number prescribed according to the distributed schedule stating that “the duration of the session will increase in a manner that covers the last period and we hope that the parliament can catch up with all the laws it has missed.”
He expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to all those working in the front line to combat the new Corona virus (Covid 19) in all directions, calling on the Almighty to protect everyone from the evil of epidemics and sickness, and that the cloud disappear sooner rather than later.
