Government Warns - Corona Cases May Break 2000 Cases A Day
The number of Coronavirus cases in the country will not decrease in the short term, rather, the infection curve is expected to continue to rise and reach the 2000 daily mark, informed government sources revealed to Al-Qabas daily.
The sources said that the health situation in the country is not reassuring, and everyone needs to adhere to the highest levels of caution and follow the health requirements including practicing social distancing, avoid gatherings, and wear masks all the time. In addition, everyone should get vaccinated and take the available vaccines against Coronavirus.
The sources indicated that these measures will contribute to gradually reducing the rates of viral infection, provided that the appropriate quantities of vaccines reach the country in succession.
The increase in vaccinations of various groups will have positive repercussions in terms of infections and deaths recorded in the country, the source said to the daily, adding that the Ministry of Health has managed to vaccinate more than 297,000 people, up to 6.9 percent of the population. The pace of vaccinations is likely to increase with the arrival of additional quantities Oxford vaccine this month.
Regarding the possibility of continuing to escalate the frequency of infections despite taking vaccinations, the sources indicated that vaccines are effective and safe, and their effectiveness in the human body begins after a period ranging between 14 and 21 days after the first dose, and with a greater percentage after the second dose, pointing out that the increase in infections is for reasons not pertaining to vaccinations, with the blame falling on non-compliance with health requirements, mixing in large gatherings, which would likely decrease by a large percentage soon, especially with the start of the partial curfew in the country next Sunday.
The spread of the coronavirus and its infections in some countries may be due to the emergence of new strains, noting that the Ministry of Health is monitoring the developments of the epidemic locally and internationally, and taking a number of preventive measures, to ensure that no new strains enter the country, Al Qabas daily reported.
