Government Resignation Postponed

The government has not made the decision to resign at today’s cabinet meeting at the moment, Al Qabas daily, quoting high-level government sources.

The sources explained to Al-Qabas that the government discussed issues of escalation regarding the parliament issues, and ways to confront it without any losses or surprises.

The sources affirmed that His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled stressed during the meeting that the ministers should refer any corruption cases to the prosecution, according to complete and clear procedures so that the corrupt would be held accountable without any delay, and work without complacency or confusion or notice to parliamentary pressure.

There are rumors for almost a week that the government plans to submit its resignation following the support of a grilling motion against His Highness the HH Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled. The escalating parliamentary support reached 38 MPs who declared their support for the questioning.
