Government Meeting On Finalizing Demographics Law Next Week

According to alqabas The Government’s meeting between the Human Resources Development Committee and the Minister of Social Affairs to reach a compromise formula on the demographics law in preparation for the final approval will be held on Wednesday, October 14th. The meeting was supposed to conduct this week, however postponed to next week.

Earlier, on September 29, the National Assembly approved the first report of the Human Resources Development Committee on proposals for laws in the matter of organizing and managing the demographic composition.

The draft law stipulates that within six months from the date this law comes into force, the Council of Ministers shall issue a decision specifying the maximum limit for expatriate workers in the country. The limit will be based on relative weight of this labor on different job categories and the relative weight of each Nationality of expats separately.
