Germany Announces That Vaccines Are Effective To Combat New Strain Of Corona
The German government announced, this evening, Sunday, that European Union experts have reached a conclusion that the current vaccines against the Corona virus are effective in combating the new strain of “Covid 19” that has been detected especially in Britain, according to what the Middle East reported.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, told the public television channel ZDF: “Based on everything we know up to now, and following meetings that took place between experts of the European authorities,” “There is no effect (of the new strain). ) On vaccines that are still "effective".
"This will be very good news," the minister added, according to what was reported by Agence France-Presse.
Scientists discovered the new strain, which they believe is transmitted 70 percent faster, for the first time in Britain in a patient in September.
Public Health England notified the government "Friday" when it revealed the process of preparing models for the full risk of the new strain.
Several cases of the new strain were also recorded in Denmark, and one in both the Netherlands and Australia, according to the World Health Organization.
