Free Milk For Needy Babies In Saudi

Babies in Saudi Arabia will be provided with fortified milk powder for free by the health ministry, the cabinet has decided. The decision is based on a recommendation to help babies from poor families up to the age of 24 months.
The assistance will be conducted in accordance with the requirement controls set by the Saudi Health Council and the Health Insurance Council, the cabinet stated during its regularly weekly session on Monday.

The Saudi Health Council will lay down the conditions and criteria for importing milk powder to be distributed through government hospitals. However, it will not carry any trademark. The operation will be coordinated with the Health Insurance Council.
