Fraudulent Appointment Of Legal Experts In Ministry Of Justice
In confirmation to a report published in Al-Seyassah daily recently regarding “fraudulent appointment of legal experts in Ministry of Justice” – a case that is on the table of the Ministerial Court, Lawyer Muhammad Al- Ansari filed a case with the Head of Public Prosecution Dherar Al-Asousi to request the referral of former ministers Yaqoub Al-San’e and Faleh Al-Azab to the Ministerial Court, reports Al- Seyassah daily.
In his statement, Lawyer Al-Ansari said, “After obtaining a verdict from the Court of Cassation that revoked the appointment of 560 legal experts, the case details indicated about suspicions of wastage of public funds, and manipulation of applications of those who were accepted including those who were accepted without undertaking any written or oral exam. Hence, the case should be referred to the ministerial court for investigation.”
He added, “There is suspicion of forgery in official documents because the administration initially modified and manipulated the results of written tests and personal interviews, rendering them to appear like the results of the written exams and personal interviews, which were issued by the state and approved by one of its employees. This kind of action of forging official documents is criminalized by the provisions of article No. 257/259 of the Penal Code”.
Judicial sources indicated that, in the next few days, the report will be sent to the Special Investigation Committee to refer the ministers for investigation and verify its seriousness, adding that if accepted, the two ministers will be referred to the Ministers’ Court.
Meanwhile, the Sixth Circuit of the Misdemeanor Court of Appeals, presided over by Counselor Haitham Al-Menai’a and with Judge Essa Al-Shatti and Judge Rashed Al-Tahoos as members, accepted the appeal against the verdict of onemonth imprisonment issued by the Misdemeanor Court against a Kuwaiti citizen in a lawsuit filed by his brothers who accused him of stealing their father’s money.
