Former Mp Jailed For Two Years For Defaming Parliament Speaker

A former Kuwaiti MP has been sentenced to two years in prison in absentia and fined KD3000 for defaming National Assembly speaker Marzooq Al-Ghanim.

The Criminal Court also ordered Abdulrahman Al-Anjari to pay KD5001 in compensation to Al-Ghanim.

The defendant was convicted of defaming Al-Ghanim during the parliamentary election campaign, claiming that he benefited from business projects.
