Five Countries Temporarily Banned From Importing Live Birds

From France, Iran, Belgium, Pakistan, and Bulgaria, the Director-General of the General Administration of Customs has put a temporary restriction on the import of all sorts of live birds, hatching eggs, one-day-old chicks, and broiler chickens.

According to the Al-Qabas daily, the decision was made due to the advent of highly virulent H5N1 avian influenza in those countries.
