Fishermen Arrested For Using Prohibited Tools During A Campaign On The Reef

According to alrai The Environment Public Authority announced the arrest of a number of fishermen during a campaign on the Shamlan sea for using prohibited fishing tools.

The authority indicated in a statement to the presence of the Authority’s General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad in Naqat Al-Shamlan, as a continuation of the monitoring operations of the marine environment carried out by the Authority, where a campaign was launched on the Naqah in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Interior (Coast Guard) and the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs. And fish wealth.

During the campaign, some fishermen who hunted with prohibited tools were seized in Kuwait Bay, and some quantities of aquatic organisms were seized, and accordingly, the prohibited fishing tools, used floats, and aquatic organisms were confiscated, and reports of violations of those who violate the environmental protection law were issued, and legal measures are being taken against them.
