Fish Can Fetch Kd 500?

The shamahi (micropogonias) fish was sold for a phenomenal price recently at an auction at the Sharq market, reports Al-Rai daily.

The head of the fishermen’s association Zaher Al-Suwaiyan attributed the reason for the rise in the price of the male fish because it carries small threads used in cosmetic surgery.

Al-Suwaian said the price of shamahi is very high, and can fetch up to 500 dinars for the male fish, unlike the female, according to the weight of the threads inside the stomach
