First Semester Foreign Students To Be Accepted At Ku
Following the announcement of the results of those admitted to Kuwait University and the number of vacant seats in some of the university's colleges, the university administration is expediting the process of admission for foreign outstanding students who will be accepted after paying all expenses, rather than waiting until the next academic year as announced by Kuwait University in advance. This is a prelude to enhancing Kuwait University's international standing.
In a local Arabic newspaper, it was reported that these students are expected to receive admission in the first semester, which indicates that Kuwait University is working hard to improve its classification and raise its level.
According to sources, the aim of this step is to raise the academic level of some faculties by accepting outstanding and distinguished students, which will reflect positively on two levels: they will raise the academic level of some faculties, and they will achieve one of the requirements of international rankings based on the percentage that foreign students will attain.
The university's director reportedly asked the Deanship of Admission and Registration to work on re-designing admission programs and systems to cater to the new segment of foreign students, so that the university could welcome them.
In the College of Administrative Sciences, there were approximately 550 vacant seats, of which 398 male and female students were accepted; this was attributed to the college's refusal to reduce the admission requirements, in compliance with the standards of education quality, and the need to know the level of applicants for admission.
