The first Kuwait Airways flights carrying domestic workers under the return plan arrived from the Philippines on 15 December. The passengers came from one of the 34 countries on a banned list from where flights are not permitted to enter the country.

However, before later flights could be scheduled, commercial flights to and from Kuwait Airport were suspended leading to the halt in facilitating the return of domestic workers.

The General Manager of National Aviation Services (NAS) Mansour Alkheziem said in a special statement to Al-Anba daily that the flight dates for India and the Philippines for the return of domestic workers has not been set

He said the ticket dates were postponed until further notice, pending a decision by the Ministry of Health to assess the health situation in the country and list the suspension of Kuwait International Airport.
