Filipina Maid Hangs Herself To Death In Sponsor's House In Kuwait

A Philippine housemaid committed suicide by hanging herself using clothes as a tool, her Kuwaiti sponsor was quoted as saying.

The 27-year-old servant had taken her life inside her employer’s house, the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Anba reported.

Upon receiving an alert, police and forensic evidence officials went to the scene for an investigation. They found that the woman, born in 1994, had committed suicide by hanging inside a toilet annexed to her sponsor’s house, the report said.

In investigations, the sponsor said the housemaid had not suffered from any problems and had not requested to go to her homeland.

Police recorded the incident as a suicide case.

There are around 250,000 Filipinos, mostly domestic workers, in Kuwait.
