Father, Son, Kuwaiti Citizen Get Jail For Financing ‘terror’

The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which sentenced a Bedoun man and his son, and a Kuwaiti citizen to five-year imprisonment and hard labor and acquitted a Yemeni citizen.

They were charged with possession of weapons, and support and financing of a terrorist organization in Yemen. Also, a warranty of KD 1,000 was imposed on the Kuwaiti citizen to suspend the ruling, and a fine of KD 9,000 each was imposed on the other two defendants, reports Al-Anba daily. As per the case file, the four were charged after the Bedoun man and his son had collected KD 9,000, medicines and other supplies for ISIS in Yemen.

These were donated by the Kuwaiti citizen, whereas the Yemeni transported them in his car from Kuwait to Yemen. The Court of Appeals had amended the ruling of the lower court which imposed fines for possession of weapons. It ruled that the father and son were fined KD 2,000 instead of KD 1,000, so that their penalty becomes five year imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 each.
