According to the Kuwaiti Court of Appeals, a financially-stable Kuwaiti citizen must pay KD 750 per month to his ex-wife continuously to care for her five children, as well as the monthly salary of the housemaid, which is KD 100, the recruitment costs, which are KD 1,000, and the transportation costs in monthly installments of KD 200. As a result of this ruling, the Personal Status Court's Appeals Chamber amended the ruling issued by the Court of First Instance in favor of the husband who is a well-off Kuwaiti citizen.

During the lawsuit filed by Fatima Al-Shatti for the "American-born" divorced woman, she stated that she was divorced from the defendant, prompting her to seek alimony as her right, since she bore five children for him. According to Al-Shatti, her children's custody should be endorsed, the defendant obligated to refrain from contacting her client, and the defendant obligated him to pay her food and clothing expenses based on the degree of his well-being at the time of the lawsuit, the wages of the house-help for her and her children starting from the date of the lawsuit, and the court's estimate of the cost of recruiting the house-help.
